Establish a Budget

If you host an event, you need to know the budget you are working with – and you want to figure this out early as well so you don’t screw yourself over as you get further into the planning.

To budget, take into consideration the goal of your event and the finances you have to work with. From there, you’ll want to categorize your needs (and wants) for the event.

Once you have that in categories, you can put a price on each sector of the event to help you with your overall budgeting.

Choose the Venue

One of the first things you want to actually plan is the venue. Once you have a place, you know what you have to work with.

You’ll have a better idea of how many people can attend, what decorations and extra supplies you’ll want for the venue, and what the venue can accommodate (like a dance floor, musician/band, or DJ).

Once you choose the venue, it’s time to put together an event plan so you know what else you will need for the big day.

Once you have the plan, you can gather everything else that you need for each part of the event! From there, you’ll be able to piece together how you want the event to flow.
